The water soluble option in the oil pastel world, is great for mixed media artists! Dipping the tip of the pastel in water, then applying to paper, results in a blendable, creamy stick of color. Here, I have used Portfolio and Ha Shi Aquarelle brands. They are both very economical and great on a variety of surfaces. I have used this floral to create a seamless pattern to be used as paper, wallpaper, and fabric! I love that you can easily blend these oil pastels with just a little ... View the Post
Distress Pencils & VIDEO
The Distress line of colors from Ranger Ink were some of my first paper crafting products back in 2016. I love the range of colors and ink formulations. I am a little late with reviewing the Distress pencils (their version of watercolor pencils), sets 1-3. I have a video below, so check that out! :) I have been using Lyra Aquarelle sticks, Inktense pencils, and Caran D'ache for some time. I would not consider the Distress pencils of the same quality, but I do think there is a valid place ... View the Post

Oil Pastel Purple Flower Painting on Toned Tan Paper
Ah, oil pastels! Their creamy and textural goodness is hard to resist. :) I love the layered colors and oil paint look without the messy brush clean-up. I've used my favorites, Mungyo and Paul Rubens. Check out the pattern design toward the end of the post! Strathmore's Toned Tan paper can hold up to a wide variety of media, so long as it is not too saturated with water. Oil pastels work beautifully on it! ... View the Post
Tombow Markers Painting of a Lady & VIDEO TUTORIAL
Tombow watercolor brush pens are a diverse art supply! I created this lady in my Strathmore watercolor art journal (video is at the bottom of post). Markers are great for travel, they have two tip styles, they can be used as drawing tools, then later activated, and the list goes on. The color selection is great! I love to scribble them on a stamping block, then spray with water to use as paint. They are great for card makers as well, as they can color in the tight spaces of stamped ... View the Post
