This is a quick painting in oil pastels in my art journal. In less than ten minutes a day, you can have a peaceful, creative moment. I ended up using this as a clip art element in my digital surface pattern designs that I create for Etsy, Patreon, and Spoonflower (coming soon), as well as my book covers. Links are throughout all my posts. Paul Rubens and Mungyo Gallery are my go-to oil pastels. I love their creamy texture and color choices! ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Fluffy Floral
I call this my "fluffy floral" because it tutned out in such a poofy style. I just kept layering on those creamy oil pastels. It's hard to stop! :) Working in an art journal is a great way to remove the stress of perfectionism and just experiment. Oil Pastels ... View the Post
Gansai Tambi Graphite Watercolors & VIDEO
These Kuretake Gansai Tambi Graphite watercolors are beautiful! The rich colors with a slight grainy, graphite texture can make gorgeous, moody tones in your artwork. I painted this with only the colors from the set, just to try them out. They have a slight opacity that makes them perfect for layering and mixed media. These would make a perfect gift for an artist friend or relative! ... View the Post

I created digital paper surface patterns, one of which you can see below! ... View the Post
Oil Pastel White Flowers & VIDEO
White flowers can be hard, but using the Strathmore toned tan paper make this oil pastel painting pop! This is a very free style and puts the "wild" in wildflowers. :) I love these on their own, but they make great textural florals in digital pattern design. Check out the video and product links below! If you haven't tried oil pastels yet, you should. Their creamy texture is very fun to add to your paintings. ... View the Post
Pastel Painting of Sailboats

It reminds me of Tolkien's elves sailing off to the Undying Lands. I taped the edges of the watercolor paper onto a thick board to prevent buckling. Also, you get the nice white border around the painting. ... View the Post
