I wanted to paint the same floral bouquet in a vase in two different mediums just to see the difference for myself. Wow! It's amazing how different they can look! The watercolor was bolder, but the one done in pastels had more texture. I used my ART TALENS art journal. Here is the same-ish painting in soft pastel. I like both of them, but you can really see the difference between the two mediums in regards to texture and boldness. I painted this in soft pastels in my Strathmore ... View the Post
Yellow Watercolor Daisy
Here is a quick daisy-ish sketch in watercolor. Even if you have five minutes, you can get something down on paper that you can use later, and it's fun! Exploring with your supplies is always a good thing. Here is a pattern I made from these flowers! ... View the Post

I'm entered into the Floriography design challenge at Spoonflower! You can vote for three designs. I entered this one! ... View the Post
Mixed Media Hummingbird
I painted this hummingbird in watercolor, then added pastels on top for texture and opacity. Bird are always a favorite to paint. There is such a variety in colors and shapes! This little bird will make its way into a pattern eventually! Mixed media is my go-to, as I love to incorporate the strenths of each medium. It's a blessing to be able to create, even on a smaller scale. I love the lighter colors and touches of green. I put my hummingbird on some of my oil pastel ... View the Post
