At the risk of painting too many flowers (if that is possible), I again bring you some flowers in oil pastels on my favorite paper. I have a video with this one (BELOW), and also made some beautiful paper (Etsy & Patreon shops!). The creamy Mungyo and Paul Rubens pastels are great to use. I have used some colored pencils as well. The oil-based pencils work especially well with oil pastels. ... View the Post
Florals in Acrylic on Strathmore Toned Tan Paper
Strathmore's Toned Tan paper can hold acrylic paint like a dream! Really, watercolors have been the only medium that I haven't had success with on this paper, due to being such a wet medium. Have you tried it? They make the perfect art journal size, and would look lovely as a framed piece once torn out. ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Potted Plant
I wish I were a gardener. Sadly, my thumb tends to be very brown instead of green. I love their reliable creaminess, still having the ability to layer. ... View the Post
Oil Pastel White Flower Painting & Video
Sometimes, the simple things are the best things. This was a fun one to paint in oil pastels with loose strokes and the lovely white contrasted by the Strathmore toned tan paper. THIS VIDEO showcases three paintings in a sped-up format. ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Storybook Bunny Lady

Now I'm not sure if she is a bunny, a goat, or a fox. :) Such is art. Nevertheless, she was fun to paint! I used oil pastels and colored pencils. Painting fur can sometimes be tricky, but lightly touching the oil pastels to the paper gives a fur-like texture. ... View the Post
