I've been painting a lot on quality papers that aren't necessarily designed for paints. Since acrylic paint doesn't need a lot of water, it's a perfect choice for black drawing paper or Strathmore's Toned Tan paper. Simply trim to size and mount on a card blank. Painted Passport Journal Kit
The Eileen Hull Sizzix Passport Journal is still one of my favorites. It's easy to assemble and a great size! I used Sizzix mat board to cut out the pieces, then covered them in a shimmery green-gold paint. Then, I used gouache and acrylic paint to paint the florals.
