I’ve been painting a lot on quality papers that aren’t necessarily designed for paints. Since acrylic paint doesn’t need a lot of water, it’s a perfect choice for black drawing paper or Strathmore’s Toned Tan paper. Simply trim to size and mount on a card blank.

I also like to take the leftover paint and mimic the design on the envelope. Acrylic, and also gouache, is perfect for surviving the sometimes postal abuse and elements.
