I love working in my art journal! In this painting, I have used watercolors and colored pencils. I love how the pencils give boldness, detail, and texture to watercolors. I also used a little ink to add a few line details.
Mixed media is a great way to use the strengths of each medium. I love how watercolor and pencils help one another.

Making a swatch of the colors that you use can help you visualize how to fill in the “gaps”. Plus, swatches can be pretty on their own. 🙂
