Art journals are a great place to practice without pressure. My proportions are a wee bit off, but this was a fun change from recent work that I have been doing. It’s a gazebo-bridge combo was a quiet river flowing beneath. A peaceful swan floats delicately by. This talk is a bit dramatic for an art journal page, but it is one of those days! 🙂
Don’t be afraid to mix your art supplies. I have a watercolor underpainting here, followed by soft pastels and colored pencils.
