This paper, which has a vintage coloring and textured surface, is very interesting to use for painting. It is great for oil pastels, gouache, acrylic paint, colored pencils, and minimal watercolor. Watercolors soak in pretty quickly, so I would only use them minimally and in conjunction with other media.
I love painting birds! This little cutie is mostly colored pencil and oil pastels. There is a very small amount of watercolor for blending purposes. It would be lovely to frame behind glass.

The flowers in the pattern below were also painted on that paper with colored pencils and oil pastels. The texture is lovely and old-fashioned.
