This gourd was fun to paint in oil pastels! My inspiration was from a magazine. Gourds can have interesting striations, but I added some whimsical colors as well. There is a video below of the process! I used (mostly) Paul Rubens Haiya oil pastels, as I love their creamy texture and colors.
Here is an example of a seamless surface pattern design that I created with the gourd and my other paintings. So fun!
