I love painting florals in all sorts of ways, so this pot of flowers was fun! I grabbed a scrap of Strathmore toned paper and used my colored pencils to block in color and texture. It’s like a color map! Adding oil pastels on top makes the color and texture really pop! I have a video of the process below!

I wanted the pot to be a galvanized-pewter sort of look. I used Soho pastels, Paul Rubens Haiya, and various others that live on my studio desk. 🙂
