Oil pastels! You know that I love them! 🙂 Here is a hot air balloon done on Strathmore’s Toned Tan paper. I also used colored pencils to define the finer lines in the basket area. Colored pencils work wonderfully with oil pastels!
I have always loved hot air balloons! When I was a kid, a hot air balloon landed in a neighbor’s field. We all ran back there to see the deflating, brightly colored balloon. It was so exciting! They are a taste of history and are the perfect canvas for color and design. My feeble attempt here was an art exercise based on a vintage photo, but it was fun.
