I loved painting this! Personified animals are always fun! Below, I have some of the steps of the colored pencil layers. Especially with smaller details, I find it helpful to start with colored pencils first, then add the oil pastels. I used my Paul Rubens Haiya oil pastels here. They are a great balance of not-too-creamy, but still creamy. 🙂
The gold touches are done by using Sennelier iridescent oil pastels, which are AMAZING! I have a YouTube short below!
