Don't be afraid to load your brush with two or three paint colors. It immediately gives a varigated and shodowed look! Here, I have used acylic paint on my trusty Starthmore toned tan paper. This is a related method to Donna Dewberry's onestroke method. PRODUCTS I LOVE ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Woodland Toadstool
We had a fairly wet September, so our lawn has lots of mushrooms popping up here and there. It's amazing that mushrooms can come in so many colors! I've used black drawing paper in my art journal with a combination of oil and soft pastels. These quick paintings are fun exercises, and I use them in my digital art. I have lots of things in works: fabric at Spoonflower, new books at Barnes & Noble and Amazon, as well as my Etsy and patreon shop. My YouTube channel has over 1,000 videos in ... View the Post
Oil Pastel Floral Painting & Video
At the risk of painting too many flowers (if that is possible), I again bring you some flowers in oil pastels on my favorite paper. I have a video with this one (BELOW), and also made some beautiful paper (Etsy & Patreon shops!). The creamy Mungyo and Paul Rubens pastels are great to use. I have used some colored pencils as well. The oil-based pencils work especially well with oil pastels. ... View the Post

Have you tried it? They make the perfect art journal size, and would look lovely as a framed piece once torn out. ... View the Post

With Patreon, you have a choice between purchasing individual items, or monthly support (which includes the design papers for free). I'm adding products as I can. There are already some great choices! ... View the Post
Freshly Milled Sandwich Loaves
I have started milling my own flour in the hopes of getting nutrient-dense food. Sadly, our food industry sells "food" that is missing most of its natural qualities. Freshly milled flour used to be a normal thing, but now it seems very foreign to people. We have grown accustomed to convenience (myself included). With five minutes of extra effort, you can have delicious and nutritious flour for your favorite recipes. This book has been immensely helpful! SHORT VIDEO HERE! This recipe ... View the Post
